  14.     Leos were born under the sign of generosity and nobility
  15. of feeling.  The sign Leo represents man's attempt at self-
  16. expression, the unfolding of the internal-power principle.
  17. Leo is a fire sign ruled by the Sun.  Since it is the Sun's 
  18. function to bestow upon the world heat, light, and life, it is
  19. the benefactor of every living creature.  In out planetary 
  20. system it is the center around which the planets rotate.  Leos,
  21. then, are generous.  They must have the spotlight and, once in
  22. it, they must shine.  They enjoy being the center of attention.
  23.     Providence helps Leos when they need it most.  New fields
  24. of action open at a time when there seems to be no visible
  25. solution to their problems.  As the Sun infiltrates the darkest
  26. shadow, so it puts Leos in the light.
  27.     Leos' roots lie in the home and in their own personal inde-
  28. pendence.  They feel the need to produce children both of their
  29. minds and of their bodies.
  30.     Leo rules the heart; therefore these people give of them-
  31. selves generously through time, money, and knowledge, with no
  32. thought of the self.
  33.     They are strongly attracted to the opposite sex.  Their
  34. love nature should be held in check, or serious heartache can

  36. afford ample illustration of this point.)
  37.     Leos are unconsciously drawn toward the idea that "the
  38. means justify the ends."  Money is important only as a means
  39. of achieving their goals.
  40.     They assume that others possess a sense of integrity equal
  41. to their own, and consequently they are overly confident,
  42. frank, and outspoken.  These traits cause them many interper-
  43. sonal difficulties and they often lose friends.
  44.     They dislike repetition.  Once they see the point, they
  45. become quite impatient, and often obstinate, in discussions.
  46. Those who disagree with a Leo's opinions should be tactful,
  47. for he will surrender so long as his dignity is recognized.  He
  48. wants people to think well of him, and as he directs a great
  49. deal of energy to this goal, it is frequently achieved.  Leos
  50. are very aware of the effect they have on others and study what
  51. to do in order to create a better effect. (This does not mean,
  52. however, that they are introspective or that they analyze them-
  53. selves in order to improve their character.)
  54.     The role that they assume is a noble role, and their sense 
  55. of the dramatic is so strong that they achieve nobility in
  56. playing this role, and thus create their own reality.  But 
  57. self-approval is also important to them--self-approbation 
  58. replaces conscience.  They will do anything they think is right
  59. --if necessary, sacrificing public disapproval for self-approv-
  60. al.  If they are forced into a compromising situation, they 
  61. will despise their work and neglect it.
  62.     The symbol of this sign is the lion, denoting majesty,
  63. power, and dignity.  Leo is a kingly sign, and Leos express
  64. pride in every movement and a stateliness that will not escape
  65. the keen eye.  Power will increase Leos' self-confidence amaz-
  66. ingly, to the point where they seem actually to glow!  As long
  67. as Leos feel that they are in a position of authority and 
  68. responsibility, they will leave no stone unturned in order to 
  69. justify the confidence that has been placed in them.  Leos 
  70. function well in positions of responsibility and management,
  71. expressing their creativity by setting policies.  Leos whose
  72. desire for authority is unfulfilled may develop traits of indo-
  73. lence, laziness, impetuousness, and inconstancy.
  74.     Women born under this sign tend to dominate their mar-
  75. riages.  They are like ferocious lionesses in defending their
  76. children.  One may step on the toes of Leo mothers, but never
  77. on the toes of their children!
  78.     Leos are practical, philosophical, and spiritual.  These
  79. qualities, along with their enthusiasm and inspiration, help
  80. them to mold public opinion.  When Leos are controlled and
  81. informed, there are no others so powerful, useful, and capable
  82. of giving to their fellow men.
  83.     They have a reckless courage, but they never fight un-
  84. fairly, no matter how great the advantages offered.  In victory
  85. they remain magnanimous and in defeat stand unconquered.  The
